Moss Landing Plant

Duke Energy turned to ARB for its power plant expertise in building this combined cycle plant at Moss Landing, near Castroville, California. This project involved the installation of four Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) that included three steam drums on each. ARB also installed all Selective Catalytic (SCR) equipment, the ammonia injection system, stack silencer, and all structural and miscellaneous steel components around the equipment.

Project equipment erection included the four Alstrom supplied triple pressure HRSGs, with Peerless SCR systems, on the 1060 MW plant expansion. ARB also self performed all small bore and large bore piping. During the complex construction schedule, ARB used a number of direct-hired crafts, including boilermakers, ironworkers, operating engineers, pipefitters, and laborers. In spite of the challenging schedule, ARB completed the project one month ahead of schedule.
